One of my new FCW friends sent this to me and it was just so amazing that I wanted to be able to go back and read it – so I’m posting!
My friend is having a gratitude dinner tomorrow night to celebrate all the people who helped her through a difficult period of time in her life last year. What a beautiful idea! She asked everyone who’s coming to bring their favorite quote and song about gratitude to share with the group. This got me thinking about my favorite quotes, meditations, actions, etc. from various sources related to attitude and gratitude, and I’ve had the most lovely hour compiling them all to share with her – and you. If you are receiving this, it’s because I’m extremely grateful to have you in my life! If you want to feel really good, I encourage you to spend a few minutes, thinking about what you are grateful for today…
Gratitude is the best attitude. ~Author Unknown
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We can’t change our past. We can’t change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We can’t change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.
